The area designated for sunflower in Argentina reached 2.7 million hectares, driven by a higher sowing intention in the agricultural south of the country. According to the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange (BCBA), 32.4% of this area has already been planted, recording an inter-weekly advance of 1.4 percentage points and maintaining an advancement over the average of the last five cycles and the previous cycle, by 12.3 and 22.1 percentage points, respectively. The latest rainfalls have mainly favored the agricultural west, including San Luis, central and southern Córdoba, as well as northern and eastern La Pampa, while regions in central-western Buenos Aires and southern Santa Fe face water excess, which could delay the start of activities.
