A recent congress at the Palace of Farmers in Kazan brought together key stakeholders in the Tatarstan dairy industry to strategize on boosting productivity and overcoming challenges. Despite leading Russia in milk production, the region's productivity per cow is below the national average, with a set target to reach 6.7 thousand kg per cow. The government supports this goal with significant investment in livestock complexes and modernization of processing facilities, aiming for a 3% annual increase in milk production. The event also highlighted the positive impact of the pandemic on dairy demand, with increased consumption of milk and dairy products, and the importance of maintaining support for capital investments amidst rising costs. The union is actively constructing feed centers to enhance productivity and has retained a support measure for livestock building modernization, showing a resilient dairy sector even in challenging times.
