The Himachal Pradesh government has launched the HIM-UNNATI scheme, allocating Rs 150 crore to support around 1.92 lakh farmers who practice natural farming over 32,149 hectares. The scheme aims to make the agricultural sector economically viable through a cluster-based development model, consolidating small-holding farmers for bulk production. It also plans to integrate other agricultural schemes and departments to maximize impact. The government will procure up to 20 quintals of naturally grown grains per family at a subsidized rate, and the scheme is expected to generate self-employment opportunities and increase productivity by 15-20%.
