Huánuco: Producer marketed 3 tons of yellow potato at S/3.5 per kilogram

Producer Enrique Reyes, from the district of Yarumayo, Huánuco province and region, managed to sell over 3 tons of yellow Tumbay potato at a price of S/3.5 per kilogram. This commercialization was achieved with the technical support of the Papa Nativa project from the Regional Directorate of Agriculture Huánuco. The company Al Campo Food acquired the production for processing and subsequent export as a frozen product to international markets, which opens new opportunities for Huanuco agriculture. The sale of over 3 tons at S/3.50/kg represents an income of S/10,500, compared to the S/5,400 it would have generated at the traditional price. This difference contributes directly to family profitability and the strengthening of the native potato production chain in the region, consolidating Huánuco as a benchmark in production for international markets.
