The Hungarian ground paprika industry faces challenges from climate change and rising production costs. However, the sector can be strengthened through technological solutions, organization, and marketing. Despite competition from Spain and France, Hungarian paprika is in demand internationally, especially products made from Hungarian raw materials. The industry is undergoing reorganization, and there is potential for growth in products like smoked ground beer and hot pepper creams. The production cost of paprika has doubled in the past decade, and climate change poses additional challenges such as temperature fluctuations and increased precipitation. Nonetheless, there are opportunities for progress through technology and producer integration.
