DEFA group experts prepared an analytical report on the volume of imports of fish and seafood in Russia in 2020, compared the results with the indicators of 2019 and made forecasts for 2021. The total volume of imports in 2020 amounted to 445.6 thousand tons, which is 7.9% less than the previous year. A noticeable decrease in volumes occurred in several product groups at once: for saury / sardines - by 38.8%, for surimi - by 21.8% and for pelagic - by 18.1%. The volume in the group of crustaceans increased markedly - by 23.2% and mollusks - by 16.9%. The following dynamics is observed within the main import groups.
