In 2020, Argentina saw a growth in its organic production, with 132 thousand tons certified and a 20% increase in harvest compared to the previous year, according to the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa). The country also witnessed an increase in the number of establishments and the surface area dedicated to organic production, reaching 4.4 million hectares, the largest in the last 20 years. Nearly all (97%) of the certified organic products, amounting to 128.6 thousand tons, were exported, primarily to the European Union and the United States. The main exports included cereals, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, and industrialized products.
