In 2022/23 MY, Kazakhstan increased sunflower oil production by 50%

At the end of 2022/2023 MY, the production of unrefined sunflower oil in Kazakhstan amounted to 417.6 thousand tons, which is 50% more than last season. The production of refined sunflower oil also increased - up to 145.3 thousand tons. Such data were announced by the executive director of the National Association of Oilseed Processors Alexander Yashkov, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported. He clarified that this result was achieved thanks to the introduction of an export duty on sunflower seeds, which came into force on February 4, 2023. Also, due to this, prices for sunflower oil have decreased - today the average selling price for sunflower oil from oil factories in Kazakhstan is 450–550 tenge/l.
