In March, Ukraine observed a slight increase in dairy product exports, reaching 8.55 thousand tons valued at 18 million dollars, despite a year-on-year decrease of 11%. The total exports for the year thus far have decreased by 5% to 25,300 tons, though export revenue saw an 8% increase from February 2024. The primary export destinations were Moldova, Armenia, and Georgia, with products including milk, cream, condensed milk, fermented milk products, whey, cheese, butter, and ice cream, the latter of which saw a notable 40% increase in both volume and value. Conversely, dairy imports in March fell by 12%, with a notable decrease in butter imports but an increase in cheese and ice cream imports. Additionally, the Ukrainian frozen products company 'Three Bears' has expanded its market reach by acquiring the Polish company Nordis.
