Russia's oilseed harvest for 2024 is projected to decrease by 1.2% from the previous year, largely due to a smaller sunflower harvest of 15.85 million tons, which is 1.4 million tons less than in 2023. The decrease is attributed to severe frosts in May and drought conditions in southern Russia. To offset this, the rapeseed, soybean, and oil flax harvests are expected to see slight increases, with rapeseed reaching 4.8 million tons and soybean 7 million tons, while oil flax is expected to yield 1.37 million tons.
