In Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa, anchovies and sardines are being sold at stalls for 150 lira per kilogram.
In Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district, stalls are once again filled with anchovies and sardines. While the fish varieties have decreased due to air temperatures being above seasonal norms, fishermen noted that prices have retreated compared to the weekend.
Engin Şinik, who sells fish, said, "Over the weekend, fish prices had risen up to 250 lira. Currently, they have dropped to 150 lira. The market has mostly anchovies, sardines, and sprats. Most of our customers are waiting for mackerel and mackerel scad, but these are the fish of this year. Demand is good and continues in the same way. If the weather gets a bit cooler, things will open up even more. For now, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't due to the heat, but we think it will soon stabilize."
Şinik advised citizens to consume fish at least once a week.
