In 2024, milk production in Russia's Tyumen region saw a significant decrease of 40.6%, totaling only 1.22 million tons, as reported by Deputy Governor Vladimir Cheimetov. This decline is primarily due to a substantial reduction in the region's cattle population, including cows, which led to a lower overall herd size. Despite this setback, the region expects to make up for the loss through improved milk productivity, with each average cow expected to produce over 9,000 kg of milk by year's end.
