In Ukraine, the import of black caviar for 11 months of 2020 has doubled

In the first 11 months of 2020, Ukraine imported 7.2 tons of sturgeon caviar (black caviar) for a total of $ 1.27 million, which is almost twice as much as last year. According to customs statistics, in 2019, sturgeon caviar was imported only 3.7 tons with a total customs value of $ 637 thousand. This was reported by the press service of UCAB, writes agronews.ua. China became the main supplier of black caviar to Ukraine - 6.2 tons or about 85% of the total volume. The top 5 supplier countries also include Italy, Moldova, Uruguay and the Netherlands. China has been rapidly developing commercial sturgeon farming since 2008 and currently produces more than 150 tons of sturgeon caviar annually, of which about 100 tons are exported.
