In Ukraine, tomato prices have reached UAH 90 per kg

On the domestic market of Ukraine, sellers were able to slightly increase the price of tomatoes and currently imported products in Ukraine are offered for sale in the range of UAH 78-90 per kg ($1.99-2.30/kg), which is on average 11% more expensive than at the end last week. This price trend is related to the reduction of supply on the market of imported tomatoes, in particular production of Turkey against the background of a decrease in the volume of imports from this country due to unfavorable weather conditions. A week earlier, importers and wholesale companies were focused on the sale of tomatoes that they had purchased at the beginning of the month, but were unable to sell within the planned time frame. At the same time, fresh deliveries to the Ukrainian market last week were carried out in minimal volumes.
