Inclusion of farmed marine products in the government fisheries stockpile project in South Korea

Jeonnam Province announced that the implementation guidelines for the government fishery product stockpile project were recently revised, and farmed fishery products that had been excluded from stockpiling were now included in the target. Government-stocked fishery products refer to fishery products purchased and stored during the main production period to supply when excess demand occurs, such as during non-production periods or holidays when consumption increases. Through this, the government stabilizes production and distribution prices and protects producers and consumers by smoothly controlling the supply and demand of marine products. The types of fishery products purchased from government reserves are separately designated by the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, taking into account the production, supply and demand trends of the year.
