The article highlights a successful initiative by Senasica, in collaboration with the Tabasco Institute, to enhance honey production by small and medium-scale beekeepers in Mexico through the Comprehensive Beehive Management program. This initiative aimed at controlling parasites and mites, resulting in a significant 25% increase in honey production and a profit of around eight million pesos. The program's efforts, supported by a five million peso investment, reached 32,000 hives, treating over 1,600 beekeepers and increasing Mexico's honey production by 20% from 2020. This initiative not only benefits honey production but also supports the crucial role of bees in pollinating nearly all agricultural crops in the country.
