The Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Maritime and Fisheries Products in Indonesia, Erwin Dwiyana, has acknowledged that the country's exports of fisheries and marine food commodities have decreased compared to the previous year. The export earnings for August 2023 reached $475.42 million, which was an increase from July but a decrease from August 2022. The decline in exports can be attributed to global economic conditions, particularly in America, which is a major market for Indonesian shrimp exports.
