In September, multiple countries reported outbreaks of various animal diseases, including African swine fever, highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1), and others. Ukraine, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Hungary, and South Africa faced African swine fever in pigs and wild boars, while the US, India, and several European countries reported H5N1 in poultry, wild birds, and mammals. Canada saw avian influenza in wild birds, and other nations reported foot-and-mouth disease, new world screwworm, bluetongue, rabies, sheep pox, anthrax, PPR, epidemic hemorrhagic diseases, and West Nile fever. Additionally, Thailand and South Korea reported nodular skin disease in cattle. These outbreaks led to significant animal losses and preventive culling measures.
