International Day of Rural Women: the importance of women's role in agriculture

On October 15, the United Nations celebrates the International Day of Rural Women, highlighting the essential role of female farmers, entrepreneurs, and field workers in combating poverty, ensuring food security, and achieving global sustainability. In 2025, the theme defined by the UN is "The Rise of Rural Women: Building Resilient Futures with Beijing+30," in reference to the international agenda marking 30 years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a global milestone in promoting gender equality.
