Peru's production of alcoholic beverages experienced a slight growth of 0.8% between January and May of the current year, with the distillation, rectification, and mixing of beverages, as well as the production of malted and malt beverages seeing notable increases. Despite this, Peru's per capita consumption of alcohol remains low at 411 milliliters per year. The country's most exported alcoholic beverages are pisco, beer, and rum, with the latter reaching the third position. The main destinations for Peruvian rum are Colombia, the Netherlands, Ecuador, the United States, and Germany. However, Peru also imports a significant amount of rum, mainly from Nicaragua.
