In June, the European Union nearly doubled its imports of Russian grain to 11.8 million euros, up from 6.5 million euros in May, with the physical volume rising to 43.4 thousand tons from 32.8 thousand tons. Wheat imports surged 2.4 times to 9 million euros, and buckwheat imports increased 2.6 times to 720 thousand euros. Italy was the largest importer, increasing its purchases fivefold to 7.2 million euros. However, starting July 1, the EU has imposed higher duties on grain, oilseeds, and processed products from Russia and Belarus, which can reach up to 95 euros per ton or 50% of the product's cost.
