Iran's non-oil foreign trade experienced a 47% increase in the first half of the current Iranian year, reaching 79.1 million tons worth $45 billion. The country's exports, including liquefied natural gas, methanol, and polyethylene, saw a 30% and 61% rise in weight and value year-on-year, with China, Iraq, Turkey, and the UAE being the main export destinations. Imports, mainly corn, soybeans, and essential goods like unprocessed vegetable oils, corn, oilseeds, wheat, and soymeal, increased by 15% and 37% in tonnage and volume respectively. The busiest border crossings for transit included Shahid Rajaee Special Economic Zone in Hormozgan Province and Bazargan in West Azarbaijan Province, accounting for 89% of Iran’s overall transit.
