Iraq to provide Lebanon with 320,000 tons of wheat

The Iraqi Deputy Minister of Trade, Sattar Al-Jaberi, announced on Monday that Iraq is undertaking an initiative to deliver 320,000 tons of wheat to Lebanon. Following his meeting with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the Iraqi official said there is a plan to ship 320,000 tons of wheat to Lebanon by land once the situation in Syria stabilizes, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA). Al-Jaberi indicated that approximately 57,222 Lebanese headed to Iraq during the recent Israeli aggression against Lebanon, and there are currently about 6,000 of them still staying there. The Iraqi Ministry of Trade revealed on Sunday that an Iraqi delegation will visit Lebanon soon to provide food and medical aid.
