The figures of Ser Beef, currently the largest feedlot in San Luis and one of the most important in Argentina, demonstrate its magnitude: it can house 80,000 heads in its 350 pens, consuming 200,000 tons of grains per year. A quarter of this is covered by its own production on 16,000 hectares, half of which is irrigated. This firm, with Italian capital, has just received an Environmental Aptitude Certificate from the government of San Luis for its advances in sustainability measures. Specifically, it received approval for two of its activities, intensive livestock farming and distribution of packaged meat, which are destined for export and the domestic market. The company, which also has assets in hydraulic engineering and energy generation, has been working on sustainable production for some time.
