Indonesia's Trade Minister M Lutfi has identified swallow's nest, a potentially lucrative commodity, for its export potential, which could reach Rp 500 trillion. The production of this commodity, predominantly found in Indonesia and contributing 75% to the global supply, is facing a challenge as the traditional production centers in Java are declining due to deforestation. The industry is now looking to expand to other islands such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. However, the expansion is being limited by the natural habits and migration patterns of the swallows.
