Italian wine exports in the first quarter of the year saw a growth of 4% in value and 3% in volume, totaling 1840 million euros and 5.1 million hectoliters respectively. Despite this positive trend, there was a slight decline in the last month, possibly due to Easter. The majority of the growth was driven by a 143% increase in exports to Russia, which accounted for 2.6% of the total exports. The growth would have been 1.1% without the increase in exports to Russia. However, there is a concern as the growth is primarily driven by volume rather than price/mix, which could lead to negative data in the future.
