Peru has emerged as the world's leading exporter of table grapes for the second year in a row, exporting 562,093 tons in the 2024-2025 campaign, according to the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa). The success of Peruvian table grapes is attributed to their high quality, diverse variety, and increasing global demand. The country exports to 44 markets, with North America accounting for 61% of sales, Europe for 24%, and Asia for 9%. Japan has become a significant market, making Peru the third-largest supplier, despite entering the market recently. Exports to Japan have seen a dramatic increase, rising by 65% from the previous year to 4.2 thousand tons in the 2024/2025 season. This growth underscores Japan's growing importance in the Peruvian grape industry.
