Japan has unveiled an action plan to boost exports of 27 agricultural, fishery and forestry products, including apples, seafood, beef and wagyu beef, and orange fish, by 2025. The plan targets specific markets and aims to reach set goals, with an increase in beef exports and the promotion of wagyu beef. The government will support the development of special production areas and set up processing plants to comply with foreign regulations. The budget for 2021 will allocate 9.9 billion yen to formulate the action plan, with a goal to increase agricultural exports to 5,000 billion yen by 2030.
