The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan has proposed amendments to the 'Specifications and Standards for Food, Additives, etc.' to relax regulations on milk products and packaging. The proposed changes include allowing the use of certain additives in synthetic resin materials used in parts that come into contact with milk products, as part of Japan's positive list system for food utensils or containers and packaging. The public comment period for these proposed changes is open until May 19, 2021.
