Japan's Nissui acquires Chilean salmon company for $133 million.

According to a statement released by Nissui, the acquisition will be carried out through its wholly-owned subsidiary Salmones Antartica, which will purchase all shares of Pesquera Yadran from three local Chilean investment companies. Upon completion of the transaction, the main operating subsidiary of Yadran, Cultivos Yadran, and five other affiliated companies will be fully integrated into the Nissui group system. Pesquera Yadran has a complete industrial chain for Atlantic salmon, covering breeding, processing, and sales, and has established mature export channels in markets such as the United States. The company's revenue for 2024 was approximately $222.4 million, but it recorded an operating loss of $21.5 million, indicating that the Chilean salmon industry still faces periodic fluctuations and cost pressures.
