(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Go Seong-sik = The Seogwipo Agricultural Technology Center of the Jeju Agricultural Technology Institute announced on the 4th that Kang Man-hee, a citrus farmer from Namwon-eup, Seogwipo City, has been selected as the 'Top Agricultural Technology Master of the Republic of Korea' by the Rural Development Administration.
The Top Agricultural Technology Master of the Republic of Korea is a system that selects top agricultural technologists who have accumulated over 20 years of total farming experience or over 15 years of experience in the same field nationwide, and have contributed to the development of regional agriculture and rural areas by implementing it on site.
This year, a total of five people were selected from four fields: vegetables, fruit trees, flowers/special crops, and livestock, and Kang was selected as the master in the fruit tree (citrus) field.
Kang is a professional farmer who has been cultivating citrus for over 45 years, managing an orchard of 15,210㎡ of covered Satsuma, Heavenly Scent, and open-field citrus.
He has registered trademarks such as 'Bulrowang' and 'Bulrohwang' and is passing on cultivation techniques and management know-how to young farmers and start-up farmers.
He was designated as the number one Seogwipo citrus master (covered Satsuma) in 2019.
The awards ceremony was held at the 2025 Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Sharing Conference at the Rural Development Administration's banquet hall on the same day.
