[Korean Farmers' Newspaper, Reporter Kang Jae-nam] Jeju City announced that it is actively pushing to expand direct trade with agricultural cooperatives in major consumption areas across the country to secure sales channels for local agricultural products and improve distribution structures. From October last year to June this year, the city has sequentially visited 23 agricultural cooperatives in five major consumption areas including Incheon, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gangwon, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang, establishing a direct trade cooperation system. Based on this, starting from this month, in preparation for the full shipment of citrus fruits at the end of September, the Jeju Agricultural Cooperative Corporation Joint Business Corporation plans to implement direct trade with agricultural cooperatives across the country. To this end, the city will revisit existing cooperatives in cooperation areas to discuss △ supply methods △ logistics systems △ operations.
