(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-cheon = On the 21st, the Hagwi Agricultural Cooperative (Chairman Kang Byeong-jin) held a completion ceremony for the Agricultural Product Distribution Center (APC) in Gwangnyeong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju City.
The Hagwi Agricultural Cooperative's Agricultural Product Distribution Center was built on a 6,524 square meter site, with a total area of 4,700 square meters across three floors above ground.
The facility includes a six-line automatic citrus sorting system, as well as automatic grading, packaging, and low-temperature storage equipment.
In particular, to increase the objectivity and accuracy of citrus sorting, an AI sorting system based on artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning has been introduced, equipped with a citrus defect and sorting camera and a non-destructive sugar content measurement device.
Linked to the government and Jeju Province's horticultural industry development plan and APC smart advancement plan, a comprehensive resource management (ERP) system dedicated to citrus has been established, enabling integrated management of the entire process from the receipt of agricultural products to sorting, storage, and shipment, allowing for the tracking of production and shipment history by farm.
The old Agricultural Product Distribution Center, built in 1997, was demolished.
A total of 10 billion won was invested in this project, including 4.5 billion won in government subsidies.
Chairman Kang Byeong-jin said, "With data-based quality management and the establishment of an efficient and transparent distribution system, we have not only increased farm income but also emerged as a new hub for regional agricultural product distribution. We will become a cooperative trusted by farmers and consumers."
