To restore the marine resources of Jeju's waters, approximately 20,000 pollock fish were released into the coastal area. The Jeju Marine and Fisheries Research Institute announced on the 17th that they released pollock fish seeds, including species like the red pollock, black pollock, and red-spotted pollock, into the coastal area of Sajeolli, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City, Jeju Island. The released fish were seeds that the Jeju Marine and Fisheries Research Institute directly produced fertilized eggs for, and after about 120 days of seed production, they were raised to a healthy size of 5 to 9 cm. Pollock fish are a representative high-quality seafood in Jeju's coastal areas and are highly adaptable to high water temperatures, making them a species with strong survival capabilities even in the rising water temperatures due to climate change.
