Jeonnam Province announced that due to frequent rainfall delaying the sowing and planting of horticultural crops, the application period for agricultural crop disaster insurance and agricultural income stabilization insurance is being extended. The period for garlic (Nanji type) has been extended from 14 days to 21 days, and for onions from 21 days to 28 days. Agricultural crop disaster insurance is a system that supports the management stability of farms by covering damage to crops caused by natural disasters, with 90% of the insurance premiums supported by national and local funds. Agricultural income stabilization insurance is a system that compensates for losses if a farm's income decreases below a certain level due to natural disasters as well as market price declines, with 85% of the insurance premiums supported. Garlic and onions are covered by these two insurances.
