(Muan=Yonhap News) Reporter Hyeong Min-woo = On the 1st, the South Jeolla Province held a regional on-site briefing on the "Horticultural Agricultural Products Price Stabilization Act and Stable Production Supply Support Business" at the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Nonghyup in Muan, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
At the briefing, the main contents of the price stabilization system according to the revision of the Agricultural and Fisheries Products Distribution and Price Stabilization Act (Agricultural and Fisheries Products Price Stabilization Act) and the detailed implementation plan for the new business in 2026 were introduced.
The briefing provided guidance on the business direction that integrates and revises existing businesses such as the joint management body cultivation business for field crops, the vegetable price stabilization act, and the supply and demand governance of the main production areas of field crops, and discussed the roles of local governments, Nonghyup, and producer organizations.
The revised Agricultural and Fisheries Products Price Stabilization Act provides a basis for support for stable agricultural production and preemptive supply and demand adjustment, and includes the introduction of a price stabilization act that pays all or part of the difference when the average price of agricultural products falls below the standard price.
Yu Deok-gyu, Director of the Food and Horticulture Division of the South Jeolla Province, said, "As the price stabilization act for agricultural products and the supply support business are key policies for stabilizing farm management, we will do our best to ensure that they provide real help to local farmers by faithfully reflecting the voices of the field."
