A hailstorm has damaged 70 hectares of crop fields in the district of San Juan de Jarpa, affecting 200 families and causing damage to a variety of crops including barley, broad bean, wheat, peas, mashua, olluco, potatoes, and grass. The Chupaca Agrarian Agency has evaluated the damage and will report to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation to potentially approve catastrophic agricultural insurance for compensation. Farmers are calling for continuous agricultural technical support due to the significant losses caused by the storm.
