A project funded by the China-International Fund for Agriculture Development is improving the agricultural productivity and financial stability of small farmers in Kenya by introducing grafted tomato plants. These tomatoes are resistant to common diseases, reducing the need for pesticides and increasing yield per plant. The superior quality and extended harvesting period of these tomatoes command higher market prices, leading to improved food security and income for the farmers. The project also focuses on greenhouse farming, sustainable agriculture training, and introducing online sales to increase market access.
