[Agricultural, Fisheries, and Livestock News=Reporter Park Yong-hwan] Jeonbuk Gimje City (Mayor Jeong Seong-ju) recently announced that it has been selected as the final candidate for the "Soybean Self-reliant Integrated Complex Creation" project, which is being organized by the Rural Development Administration. The city plans to invest 2 billion won from next year until 2027 to establish a region-self-reliant model that integrates soybean production and distribution. This project aims to create a specialized domestic soybean complex that links the entire process from soybean production to distribution, thereby establishing a stable domestic soybean supply base and increasing the self-sufficiency rate. Gimje region, with a paddy soybean cultivation area of 7,200 hectares this year, is the largest primary production area in the country and produces high-quality paddy soybeans based on excellent production technology, annually across the nation.
