In 2023, Indonesia's fishery product exports to Russia were valued at US$ 25.38 million, capturing only 1.5% of the market share, significantly lower than Chile's 22.5%. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) of Indonesia, represented by Budi Sulistiyo, stressed the need to enhance exports to Russia, where fishery imports totaled US$ 1.73 billion, dominated by trout, salmon, shrimp, and seaweed. Indonesia trails behind countries like India, Ecuador, China, and South Korea in exporting these commodities to Russia, highlighting the necessity for strategic efforts to boost Indonesia's market share.
