The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has completed a production complex at Chamkomak in the Philippines in collaboration with local trading companies SK C&S and GM Fisheries. The complex includes a cockle nursery and a fish processing facility, built at a cost of 3.3 billion won. The nursery can produce 40 million cockle larvae annually, while the processing facility meets food safety standards and has a total floor area of 2,500 square meters. The project, part of KOICA's local economy revitalization initiative, will continue until 2026 and aims to improve the profitability of local fishermen through education and diversification of seafood processing products.
