[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper, Reporter Young-jin Choi] The Korea Water Resources Corporation is expanding overseas the fishing village development model, including the Busan Fishing Village Specialization Center. The corporation participated in the Vietnam Fisheries Food Expo and the Singapore Fisheries Expo to introduce fishing village specialty products developed in Busan to buyers, and to check the export potential and overseas expansion possibilities, it was announced on the 14th. Accordingly, plans are underway to promote technical exchange and field practice-based fishing village specialization case education targeting local fishermen in Indonesia and Guimaras Province, Philippines, in connection with KOICA ODA projects. Furthermore, by introducing the domestically verified successful model of fishing village specialization to overseas fishing villages, the foundation for sustainable fishing village development and international cooperation will be established.
