Korean abalone, popular in East Malaysia

Recently, there has been a surge in demand for Korean live abalone in East Malaysia, drawing attention to the market. According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation (KATI), local buyers reported that Korean live abalone sashimi and other live abalone menu items are gaining popularity among tourists due to word-of-mouth. Korean live abalone is being sold at the famous local seafood chain, Welcome Seafood Restaurant, and is also being included in local tourism packages, leading to increased awareness.
