The Vinnytsia region in Ukraine has seen a surge in stone fruit cultivation, with an increase in planting area, particularly for sweet and sour cherries. This growth is predominantly driven by farmers such as PSP Luch, PH RIA, and OOO Fedorovskoye. However, the expansion of this segment faces challenges, as highlighted by Serhiy Boychuk of the Vinnitsa Sadvinprom Association. These challenges include the scarcity of high-quality domestic planting material due to bureaucratic issues and the complexities of certification, leading to a reliance on imported materials. Additionally, Ukrainian nurseries are lagging behind their European counterparts in innovation, both in terms of the variety of plants and the quality of planting material.
