Farmers in Nepal's Salyan district are facing crop losses due to a severe drought, exacerbated by a lack of rainfall and inadequate irrigation. The drought has parched maize plants and paddy seedlings, forcing some farmers to halt their agricultural activities. The situation is further worsened by the drying up of water sources. Approximately 7,000 hectares of land has been cultivated for paddy plantation, and around 19,000 hectares for corn plantation in the district.
