The Lanzhou City Market Supervision and Administration Bureau has released the results of its food safety sampling inspection for the first half of the year, revealing that ginger products had an unqualified rate close to 10%. The bureau used a rapid inspection vehicle equipped with mass spectrometry technology to detect pesticide residues at farmer's markets. The unqualified agricultural products included ginger, long bean, cowpea, leeks, spinach, bean sprouts, bananas, eggs, and others, with thiamethoxam and imidacloprid being the main pesticides detected. The bureau plans to increase the use of rapid inspection technology and improve testing accuracy to detect hidden food safety risks.
