Brazil's fishing exports revenue doubled in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, reaching USD 14.35 million. The total volume of shipments increased by 14%, totaling 4,931 tonnes. The most significant increase in revenue was due to the growth in the sale of products with higher added value, especially frozen fillets, which had a 544% increase in revenue and a 571% increase in volume. Tilapia remains the main species exported, accounting for 98% of revenue and 99% of the volume shipped worldwide in the first half of this year.
