The Turkish government has permitted duty-free imports of wheat to satisfy the flour milling industry's requirements, intending to boost Turkey's global flour export status. Flour mills can now import the entire required wheat volume, provided they export the same amount of flour. This decision, along with reduced corn duties, has led to a surge in food wheat prices in Ukrainian Black Sea ports. Experts anticipate that Turkey will import around 1.5 million tons of wheat, predominantly from Russia, in the coming months. The International Grains Council has updated its wheat balance for the MY 2024/25, showing an increase in world production and stocks. The 23rd International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV, scheduled for April 24 in Kyiv, will focus on the development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region.
