This pest was under control until 2015, but since then, resources for management have been scarce. The article emphasizes the need for a public-private partnership and sufficient funding to address this issue. The current Senasa Program is urged to regain its historical status as a Directorate, with the necessary resources to both handle emergencies and prevent them.
