The market for sweet peppers in Germany was dominated by Dutch imports, followed by Turkish imports. Italian pointed peppers appeared in Frankfurt at a cost of €2 per kg, while domestic peppers were priced up to €4.30 per kg. The availability of peppers had expanded overall. Meanwhile, in the fruit market, New Zealand and Chilean imports of apples were steadily increasing, while Chilean and South African pears formed the basis of the supply. Overall, supply and demand were balanced for lemons and bananas, and there was a limited availability of cucumbers and tomatoes.
